Online friendship or abuse? Innocent questions or attempted grooming? Find out if the child who has come to you for support has experienced online grooming? Professionals working with children may find cases where a child is invited to engage in sexual activity on the internet. This can cause confusion and embarrassment for the child, as well as feelings of fear, guilt or shame. The test is designed for professionals who, in the course of their professional duties, have identified a particular child as a possible victim of online grooming* (e.g. on social media, messaging apps, game chats, video chat, etc.). The test consists of 20 questions and will take approximately 10 minutes to complete. Before answering the questions, please indicate sex and age of the child who may have experienced online grooming.
* Online grooming is the act of establishing a friendly relationship with a child or the child's family members to reduce the child's resistance when a friend, acquaintance, relative or stranger wants to engage the child in sexual activity. Taking the test is anonymous.
